The piece
A one-of-one pendant for Trey Songz
We made Trey Songz a fully iced square pendant: a house in coloured stones with an emerald-cut green centre stone, roses on either side and red and yellow flames breaking out of the frame. It hangs on a white and pink Cuban link chain. 3,900 hand-set stones, 1.3 kilos in all.

The reveal
Tested in front of him
It came in our green croc Adamans case with a fake chain we brought along for comparison. Our team put the tester on the fake first: nothing. Then on his pendant, and the lights ran all the way up. Then the chain went on.
The roses
Why the roses mattered
"You see how this rose on my neck, I stopped wearing a lot of jewelry because this one means the most to me since my grandmother passed."
Then Trey counted the roses on his new piece: "You got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 roses in there." And then: "It means a lot to me, bro."
